Cretacolor PAPER
Our hint: experiment with different papers! Working on smooth surfaced drawing or printmaking paper or hot press watercolor paper produces the most precise lines. Using hard pastels on textured paper (soft or cold press watercolor) or on rough surfaces (drawing paper with tooth or rough watercolor paper) is more lively and shows the interesting texture of the paper itself. Velvet, sand or any other textured paper with good tooth is ideal for the use of hard pastel products since pigment adheres to the paper better. Certain professional sanded pastel papers or cards have such a great tooth that fixatives are not nexessary. Use special tinted paper for exceptionally bright and brilliant color results. For watercolor techniques, watercolor paper is highly recommended.
